Acne Peeling

Acne peeling

A peel is essential for maintaining beautiful and healthy skin. A peel is going to remove the top, dead skin layer, revealing new, radiant skin.

There are different types of peels where we differentiate between AHA (glycolic and lactic acids, among others) and BHA (salicylic acid) acids.

An AHA peel works on fine lines and coarse skin texture, among other things, and a BHA peel works positively on acne and congestion. During your treatment, we will check which peeling is suitable for your skin.

Before treatment

Prior to peeling, it is sometimes necessary to use a cream with a low percentage of glycolic acid to optimally prepare the skin for treatment.

It is important to continue to take good care of the skin before treatment as well. This includes avoiding sunlight, tanning beds and self-tanning creams for 6 weeks before treatment. Apply a minimum of SPF 50

During the treatment

We will first cleanse the skin so that make-up, cream or dirt is properly removed. The skin is then prepared and degreased so that the peeling can work well into the skin.

The peeling is then applied. This feels (depending on the strength of the peeling) like light stinging or burning.

While the peeling is on the skin, the skin therapist keeps a close eye on the skin. Depending on the peeling, it will be on the skin for less time at the beginning of the treatments than if you have already undergone several treatments.

Some peelings are applied in layers. Depending on the indication and the number of treatments, the number of layers is determined.

After the treatment

The skin is red after treatment and may sometimes be a little swollen. This will subside within 1 to 2 days.

We always apply sunscreen with at least SPF 50. As the peelings stimulate the exfoliation of the skin, the skin will start to flake in the days after the treatment, which can last up to 7 days.

You can use make-up as usual, but always in combination with sunscreen. Sometimes small scabs appear on the skin.

It is important not to scratch them and to let the skin recover in peace. During the treatment, you use sunscreen every day to protect the skin properly. After the last treatment, you continue using it for another six weeks.
